Your opponent will do the same, and then players take turns shooting and attempting to hit the opponent's ships. When you hit a ship, a 'hit' is declared, and you can shoot again. If you miss, the turn passes to your opponent. The goal of the game is to be the first to sink all of the opponent's ships.
